About the Audi R8
Audi seems to have come in late into the game of have supercars among all the German brands. Clearly, the wait was worthwhile as in the Paris Auto Show in 2006; the R8 V8 premium car was launched. Right after acquiring the Lamborghini brand, Audi purposed to develop something on the same line. Seeing that they had the transmission and engines in place, all that was required is to come up with appealing bodywork. The LeMans concept was showcased in 2003 by Audi and it won the 24h LeMans race 3 times, consecutively. It is this concept that worked as the inspiration for the creation of the Audi R8. The supercar was designed as a light and small coupe loaded with all-wheel drive and a mid-size V8 engine.
